Hi John. A good start on the concept for your storyboard. Take a second look at the storyboard tutorial to help you map out your visual elements for the left column. Planning these elements will save you a lot of time later!

Hi John:
ReplyDeleteYour topic was my first option and you chose it about one minute before me. It is a great subject and a sill which I believe should permeate the educational landscape starting with Pre-K learners. My favorite example of critical thinking involves the decision medical professionals make in the Emergency Room when selecting the patients that will be treated first. Other illustrations of critical thinking may involve the need to get children to nurture healthy eating habits in order to offset the consequences latter on.
I am quite impressed by the layout of your video storyboard which presents an harmonious sequence of events susceptible to capture the attention of your audience. I am nevertheless wondering how you plan to link the activities which are happening in classroom, computer lab, and library.
I am trying to create the link between distance education, by the use of the computers, and the traditional classroom setting. Critical thinking skills are a major need in any education setting, so showing a link in the video will show a need for developing critical thinking skills in whichever format is being used. I hope this makes sense.
DeleteOverall, your ideas are good. How to you plan to assess student critical thinking skills in frame 3?
ReplyDeleteCritical thinking skills, to me, can only be assessed using authentic assessments. That means that students have to be presented with a real problem that requires production and problem solving.
ReplyDeleteYour video is progressing nicely. I am anxious to see graphics. Have you made the final decision on the program you are going to use? I am still deciding and wanted to get opinions on which is the best and most user friendly.
